Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) Scheme became effective for exports starting January 1, 2021.Objective: It was enforced to repeal and reduce taxes on exported products, thereby encouraging exports and increasing the number of exports in the country.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today said that India has facilitated the export of 25 metric tonnes of Assam’s GI-tagged Joha Rice to the United Kingdom and Italy. In a social media post, sharing this information, he said that the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority enabled the shipment.
Mr Modi called for a unified approach involving experts, industry, and farmers to meet global quality and branding standards, and highlighted the importance of setting clear goals to connect local farmers with global markets. He highlighted the shifting global demand and the necessity of making the Indian agriculture sector export-oriented.
